Cerenes golf clubs manufacture: In peace lies strength

Perfection for precision – Cerenes impresses golf lovers

Pure stainless steel, artfully forged and with a fine lustre. The tee-off is effortless and accurate. The club is adapted to the gram to my body and my strength. Cerenes clubs provide perfection for precision having been developed according to Volker Ruhe's ingenious idea.

Have you also have discovered your passion for golf? The lush green, the scenic nature and the varied courses are just as appealing as the challenges and moments of success in the game itself. Few other sports follow their own rules as much as golf. The course, the weather, concentration, precision and power collude to make every shot thrilling and different for each of us. But why, although we all have very different physical requirements, do we have largely the same equipment? Does not a strong, six-foot man have different requirements for optimal golf equipment to, for example, an equally tall but slim flight partner? This was the question Volker Ruhe asked himself during a game with a friend six years ago. It was to lead to thedevelopment of his business idea for Cerenes.

It is as simple as it is convincing: every golfer has an individual swing rhythm, strength and strike velocity. For each of us, different criteria come together for the perfect swing. I wanted to learn more about this and made my way to Maienfeld in the Swiss canton of Grisons where I was met at the Cerenes Technical Center by the company's founder, Volker Ruhe. Here, the latest 3D Doppler radar measurement technology is employed to determine the requirements for personalised golf club sets. Far more than fixed values such as body size, arm length and hand size are taken into account. The series of tests I underwent analysed my movement, strengths and weaknesses. 150 shaft / head combinations are available for the data collection which the experienced specialists can narrow down as soon as they see the customer for the first time. Swing for swing, I converged on the optimal weight distribution and the club weight that required the least effort. I could feel how the swings changed, improved and finally led to consistently optimal results. I had found my club set.Customised, top-class and tuned perfectly to my game.

The high standards I experienced at the Cerenes Technical Center are of course reflected in the manufacturing of the high-end products. The very best of the best is only just good enough: the stainless steel is of the highest quality and each club head is made from a single piece. The artful design is based on traditional Japanese forging processes that date back to the production of samurai swords. Cerenes clubs are also a visual highlight: special and elaborate PVD coatings are offered in five elegant shades of black, smoky titanium, diamond blue, glossy maroon and gold, making Cerenes clubs unique items. The exclusive look does not detract from the quality in any way – at a thickness measured in hundredths of a millimetre, the customised weight distribution in the club head is not affected. Some of the technical details perfected by Volker Ruhe over six years remain his secret.

Cerenes golf club sets are currently available in four versions, all individualised and custom built according to the player's measurements. 'Cerenes tour' is a forged muscle back for the advanced player and is characterised by classic blade design, a narrow topline and a very narrow sole. 'Cerenes pro' is forgiving of errors and provides excellent distance control. Its narrow sole and thin topline enables medium-high ball trajectories. The 'Cerenes draw' series, with its forged slim cavity back design, is perfect for high trajectories and outstanding distance control. Finally, 'Cerenes fun' has a narrow topline and a wide sole for very high trajectories and a solid, soft feel at impact. In addition to irons, Cerenes also offers matching putters and exclusive leather bags. My enthusiasm was clear to see. Who would not want to head straight for the next tee with a set of these customised treasures?
