LOTUS ELETRE – SUV MIT RENNSPORT-DNA
The Eletre enjoys stealing the scene as a luxurious statement: it is both a practical, versatile SUV that offers generous space – optionally as a four- or five-seater – and has proved to be a first-class family car. But the soul of a fast-paced super sports car is slumbering inside, always ready to make impressive sprints with two powerful drive engines: the Eletre S goes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, gets your adrenaline pumping and gives you amazing sensations of exhilaration. It effortlessly reaches a top speed of 258 km/h, supported by wing spoilers and the extendable spoiler at the rear, which ensure optimum aerodynamic properties. The chassis and handling clearly speak the Lotus language and unmistakably highlight the manufacturer’s racing expertise. The striking exterior and ground-breaking performance are complemented by an interior design that combines a futuristic high-tech ambience with a luxurious feel-good atmosphere: comfortable sports seats, made from recycled materials as a sign of sustainable responsibility, or also of soft leather, as well as flowing illuminated strips provide a warm welcoming embrace. The large OLED screen, high-performance and intuitive to operate, is at the heart of the digital cockpit, which of course also offers the best connectivity and an audio system with Dolby sound experience. If you want to know how far the Eletre goes: the maximum range is 535 km, and thanks to 800 V fast-charging technology, you can charge from 10% to 80% in 20 minutes, with an additional 120 km requiring 5 minutes of charging.
'Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere.' Lotus still follows this principle of its founder Colin Chapman today – achieving unparalleled agility in its vehicles, thanks to lightweight carbon components.

FLASHBACK
Hazel Chapman (1927 - 2021)
Founders of Lotus
Colin Chapman (1928 - 1982)
The Lotus brand has a fascinatingly long and impressive history: it was 1944 and 16-year-old Colin Chapman began to convert an old Austin 7 in the garage of the parents of his girlfriend and future wife Hazel. He had studied mechanical engineering in London, where he met Hazel at a dance – she immediately realised that he had something special. She shared his passion for cars and technology and, during his time in the Royal Air Force, also lent a hand here and there. Four years later, the Chapmans finished work on their car and the first Lotus was born: ‘Mark 1’. Further models followed during the 1950s, especially for the burgeoning motorsport scene: Here the lightweight cars from Lotus took pole position thanks to their agility and competitors were left behind, despite having more power. Successes in the Le Man 24 Hour Race and in Formula 1 laid the foundations for the company’s own Formula 1 team, which won two F1 world championship titles and numerous other championships under legendary drivers such as Graham Hill, Emerson Fittipaldi and Ronnie Peterson. These victories spurred pioneering Chapman on to further innovations: he was the first to develop his road and racing models with a monocoque chassis, lightweight carbon fibres and computer-controlled components. After Colin’s death in 1982, Hazel Chapman continued his legacy, handing the company over to new hands to ensure its continued existence, but remaining closely associated with it. More than seven decades later, Lotus continues to follow its founder’s vision of leaving out everything superfluous and focussing on the essentials. The brand with the unmistakable yellow lettering is still making history on roads and racetracks around the world today. Lotus combines tradition with hyper-innovation in its electric models, thus paving the way to a strong and sustainable mobile future.
