The gently rounded oak tables perfectly frame the interior hexagon of glass, marble and stainless steel like petals framing a flower. Seven tables, connected into one large table or individually variable. At first glance it’s clear: a design piece, futuristic and functional, high-quality and charismatic. And yet, it is much more than that: this piece takes a backward glance at the history of furniture, at people in the here and now and at their changing future. In this way, it becomes a collector’s item whose value stands the test of time and creates a lasting legacy – matching the vision of its creator Ramy Fischler, whose projects lend a new depth to the topic of design.

How do we live, work and consume today and tomorrow? How do we interact with our environment and what expectations do we have? Against the background of such questions, Ramy Fischler also explores the implications for the design of objects and spaces. In his RF Studio in Paris, this Belgian designer and interior architect develops futuristic scenarios together with his team and external experts, looks towards the future from new perspectives and also ascribes an ecological responsibility to the role of design. His portfolio now boasts numerous impressive large-scale projects – such as the X Headquarters in Paris, the Hilton Canopy in Cannes and the Champagne Bar in the Eiffel Tower. At the same time, he offers a hand-picked selection of exclusive designer furniture with his 'Collection Mobilier No 1'. Each of these interior pieces, designed with a specific context in mind, blends decorative character with state-of-the-art technology and craftsmanship in an inimitable way. Each piece is a work of art, carefully choreographed and writing its own story. Each piece is unique, individually made to order and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Design as an element of living history

Ramy Fischler has lived and worked in Paris since 1998. He graduated from the renowned design academy ENSCI-Les Ateliers and spent some time at the Académie de France in Rome’s magnificent Villa Medici. His style is an expression of his experience, observations and expertise – and a futuristic vision at the same time: With 'Heterotopia', he showcases the workplace of the future, geometrically powerful, yet unconventionally daring: a minimalist block of marble, suspended seemingly weightlessly from leather-covered steel cables as a desk. If you take a closer look, you recognise the integrated interactive keyboard, which transmits the data to large mirrors, complemented by the sound of the high-tech system. It is a kind of alternative concept of history, inspired by the rooms of the Villa Medici and the entrenched power structures of that era. For his 'Walter' interior series, he deliberately allows soft, organic shapes to play the leading role, in combination with light colours and natural materials. The wonderfully spacious sofas face each other with a subtle curve, as if to invite conversation and togetherness. The artistry of the series is also fulfilled here in a highly elegant, timeless way: like a filigree shell, the light brown leather-covered back panel encases the soft white leather upholstery which sits enthroned on matt shimmering steel feet. The round coffee table forms the perfect centrepiece – also gleaming in brilliant white, it resembles an oversized bowl; an étagère with circular surfaces made of mirror and marble rises upwards from its surface. The cosy ensemble is therefore more than just an elegant eye-catcher – it creates a balance between communication, relaxation and well-being.

The elegant Monaco dining table, the unusual birchwood stool Livry or the hand-tufted Heterotopia rug: Ramy Fischler’s design wins you over with a special extra touch. Sometimes the blend of different materials or patterns creates excitement; sometimes altered angles add new perspectives, sometimes curves and fan-like techniques set innovative accents – unexpected details and playful elements create an outstanding aesthetic and sophistication that enriches any room. But it is above all the entrepreneurial ethos of RF Studio that influences the design development processes: it focuses on the best possible symbiosis between humans and nature according to mutual respect and peaceful coexistence; on a new way of consuming – with a more sensitive awareness and more sustainable decisions; on more togetherness, for example through knowledge transfer, collaboration or sharing; on a new definition of work in the context of meaning, time and new technologies; and finally on a re-emergence of human nature – mindful of our well-being and health. Ramy Fischler is a creative and collaboration partner, observer, mover & shaker, director and actor. He welcomes change and values modern technologies as a motivating force. He puts the spotlight on beauty without focussing on what he is creating it for: our future. It is precisely because his roles are so multifaceted that every project, whether it is a building, interior or product, takes on a special value and dimension. Perhaps a good reason for you to add one of his forward-looking creations from the 'Collection Mobilier No 1' to your living space?
